Running: New Guinness World Record!

If someone still had any doubt about the rightful holder of the title of “king of marathon”, today he can be satisfied.

In Turin (Italy), the city where he was born, lives, works and has crowned his attempt to run 51 marathons in 51 consecutive days, Enzo Caporaso has received today the official communication on the part of Guinness World Records of approval of his claim for the extraordinary record, that say literally: “Dear Mr.Caporaso, I am delighted to say that your claim has been approved and you are the record holder for 'Most marathons run on consecutive days (male)’ ”.

To the question “Mr Caporaso, don’t you fear that now someone else would try to beat your record?”, Enzo answered “There is no problem, records are made to be broken, therefore if now somebody would do 52, 53 etc. he is welcome, I wish him good luck”.

Caporaso in 2008 what with training, record attempt and simple running pleasure has already collected 64 marathons; moreover he took part in an ultra-marathon event, the One Hundreds Kilometres of Passatore. The extraordinary thing is that Caporaso can put together all this running with his own working activity. In fact, even for all the 51 days of the event he never ceased to go to office.

In practice, with two hours of work permit per day, this Turin manager was successful in his enterprise. “I am not Superman, I am a normal person who did something very normal. With a good training and a great deal of goodwill everybody can aim to get a similar success”.

We are not so sure about this last statement, anyway Caporaso proved to be a serious person, therefore … why not believe him?
